Skin Deep
Our skin is intricately connected to the Lungs in Chinese Medicine. Parallel to the Lungs, serving as the sole internal organ with a direct link to the external environment via our breath, the skin functions as a mediator between our inner and outer realms.
As a result, the condition of our Lung Ki is visibly evident in our skin. When the Lungs are affected by dryness or excessive heat, these imbalances manifest on our skin. Similarly, the inability to regulate sweating indicates an inability of the Lungs to retain fluids. This can be attributed to an excess of heat expelling the fluids or to a weakness in the Lungs preventing the closure of skin pores.
Excema and Psoriasis can be difficult to treat. They indicate a dual presence of blood stasis and heat within the impacted meridians. Through Acupuncture and Moxibustion techniques, it becomes achievable to realign the body's equilibrium, restore harmony to the meridians, and prevent the ongoing manifestation of the factors contributing to their dermatological condition.
